Upon arrival this Tuesday, you might have noticed the cones and tape blocking off half of the parking lot. Once the seniors started to arrive, there was much confusion about the whole matter, as there were no signs or announcements about our visitors. Tyler Mosbey was one of the seniors that was confused upon arrival, “I pulled into the lot and saw that every spot was taken, and I looked across the street and saw a bunch of cones and caution tape.”

The students were told to take other parking spaces in the lot, or were directed to the Kerrytown parking lot and given change for the meter. Dean Jen Hein explained the situation, “We have visitors from another school district this morning.” This was the reason behind the sectioned off area in the parking lot, which had been reserved for the Superintendent of Clarkston public schools, and his administrative team and teachers.

None of the students were previously informed about Clarkston visiting or the circumstances surrounding their arrival. “They are here to see what makes Community High School so exceptional. How does it work, and why does it work?” said Hein. Tuesday morning was a good example of the attitude of the students and teachers of Community High. Even with the unexpected change in the morning’s schedule, teachers and students were understanding and cooperative.
