On Sunday, May 1, thousands of Ann Arborites flocked to Ann Arbor’s Old West Side for an outstanding musical event. This event, known as the Water Hill Music Festival, was an idea thought up by the incredible Paul Tinkerhess. Tinkerhess wanted to bring their neighborhood together to share in an afternoon of music, dancing and a general feeling of community.
The Festival was announced in early April. The idea was to have people play on their front porches or yards so that the Festival wouldn’t interrupt traffic. However, for artists like Los Gatos and the Tinkerhess Family Band, crowding into the street became inevitable.
Singer and Skyline Junior Tasha Major sang at the Festival. “It was really cool to bring together the talent in the neighborhood, because there’s a lot of it. I hope [Water Hill] turns into an anual event.”
