花見 (Hanami)
From now on we will sometimes be covering more lesser known songs and artists. I want to give more exposure to the smaller artists that really deserve just as much attention as some of the bigger artists out there. To kick it off we will start with “花見 (Hanami)” – constrobuz.
Despite being an instrumental song with no lyrics, you don’t initially notice because of how layered and “busy” the song really is. The entire song is built around a wonderful harp sample that provides the very non-repetitive melody. There is also a lot of smaller noises that help fill the gaps that you probably won’t notice until a second or third listen. Even though the song is very fast paced, it comes off with a very chill feeling. It also provides a good break from most moderns songs heavy bass, as the song has a light bass drum but the song doesn’t feel “empty” because of it. This song is very unique and and you probably haven’t heard anything like it on the radio.
This song comes on construbuz’s album “栄誉 (Honor)” with an impressive 21 song tracklist totaling in at about 54 minutes of music. Obvious from the title, the album is inspired by eastern asia and its many sounds. Some of my personally favorite tracks off the album are “花見 (Hanami)”, 蛟 (Sea Serpent), and 紅葉狩 (Momijigari).
