    About the Contributors
    Photo of Loey Jones-Perpich
    Loey Jones-Perpich, Web Editor-in-chief
Loey is a senior at Community High and is very excited about starting her third year on staff! This year, she is one of the Website Editors-in-Chief. When she is not in the computer lab, you can find her in the black box for theatre, in her room petting her cat, or in her car listening to country music. Her favorite foods are burritos and sushi, and she's probably eating one of them right now!
    Photo of Lily Sickman-Garner
    Lily Sickman-Garner, Social Media Editor-in-Chief
Lily is a senior at Community and this is her fourth semester on staff. This year, she is also one of the Social Media Editors-in-Chief. When she’s not at The Communicator she can be found at CET rehearsals, feminist club, or practicing cello. She loves chocolate and being outside, and even though she wishes school could be happening in person she’s excited to start working on The Communicator again!
    Photo of Ben Cooper
    Ben Cooper, Sports Editor

Ben Cooper is a junior and this is his third year on the Communicator staff. Other than writing and editing articles, Ben enjoys playing basketball, participating in Mock Trial as well as  spending time with his two dogs. He is looking forward to writing all sorts of stories this year, in addition to learning and improving his writing as much as possible.

    Photo of Sophie Nunez
    Sophie Nunez, Journalist
Sophie Nunez is a senior at Community High School, and this is her third year on staff as a journalist. Sophie has a strong passion for animals, when she is not writing she is probably riding her horse or playing with her bunnies or dogs. She enjoys blasting Taylor Swift and watching David Dobrik. If you are playing early 2000s music Sophie will be there singing along.
    Photo of Owen Kelley
    Owen Kelley, Journalist
Owen is a junior at Community High. He enjoys writing, playing sports and spending time with his family. Owen is a very friendly person and loves to try new things. This is his second year on The Communicator and he mostly writes sports articles.
    Photo of Ella Rosewarne
    Ella Rosewarne, Photography Editor
Ella is a Sophomore who is entering her second year on staff. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, playing with her dogs and watching Phineas and Ferb. She loves to watch this show in the summer and other seasons to remind her of summer. Her favorite season is summer, she loves her 104 days of summer vacation and always finds a good way to spend it.
    Photo of Scarlett London
    Scarlett London, Activism Columnist
Scarlett is a sophomore and this is her second year on staff. When she’s not playing with her very small dog or scrolling through TikTok, she loves eating popsicles, going downtown with friends, watching Criminal Minds, doing paint-by-numbers, and using semicolons. She also loves dancing and spends time every day either at the dance studio or in her basement practicing. Her favorite part of journalism is how influential a good quote can be. She also loves seeing an article she wrote in a magazine because it makes her feel important.
    Photo of Lucy Tobier
    Lucy Tobier, News Editor
Lucy Tobier is a junior at Community and the News Editor for The Communicator. This is her second year on staff and she is looking forward to a different, but still great, year. When she is not writing or interviewing, she likes to bake, cut up flower catalogs for collages and read cozy mysteries. Her dream pet is a corgi and her ideal day would be to be left alone with a stack of books and an aways hot cup of tea.
    Photo of Dan Gutenberg
    Dan Gutenberg, Web Editor-in-Chief
Dan is a senior and this is sadly his fourth and final year on staff. In class, you’ll usually find Dan working hard on the website, editing someone’s work or occasionally on SNO unproductively changing his admin color scheme just for fun. Outside of class, if he’s not on the soccer field for Pioneer, he’s most likely climbing, hiking, golfing, skiing or playing tennis. And he also remains convinced that he can beat anyone on staff in ping-pong, so feel free to lower his ego and challenge him to a match.
    Photo of Carmen Johnson
    Carmen Johnson, Journalist
Carmen Johnson is a senior at Community, who has taken journalism once a semester through her high school career, and this year is her second year on staff for The Communicator. Outside of school, Carmen can be found on the ice, she plays for Skyron’s women's hockey team, has an interest in music, and has been a part of multiple projects for Neutral Zone’s “Poetry Night in Ann Arbor.” In the future, Carmen is hoping to pursue her dreams in screenwriting.
    Photo of Charles Solomon
    Charles Solomon, Web Editor-in-Chief
Charles Solomon is a senior at community, and this will be his seventh semester on staff. He is excited for many things about the year ahead, but the thing he is probably most proud of is the fact that he is posting this profile on time and not a year late like previous years. When not in class, Charles can often be found starting pointless debates in Mock Trial, practicing Jazz Violin for his combo, or plotting to translate the Communicator website into Tolkien's Elvish. In his scant free time, he enjoys reading books he doesn’t have time for, watching bad movies, checking the news, and on special occasions spectacularly losing overcomplicated video games.
    Photo of Eleanor Niman
    Eleanor Niman, Journalist
Eleanor Niman is a senior at Community, and this is her second year on The Communicator staff. In her free time, Eleanor enjoys writing, painting, listening to sad music, and spending time outside. She also loves going on walks with her new puppy.
    Photo of Joey Simon
    Joey Simon, Journalist

Joey is a junior and completing his second year on staff. His interests include music, fashion, and sneakers, and he rows for Pioneer's crew team and plays the bass in their symphony orchestra. His favorite things to do are travel, design shoes, and make music, and he hopes to pursue a career in one of those things.

    Photo of Leo Kupperman
    Leo Kupperman, Journalist
Leo is a sophomore in his first year on the communicator. He enjoys playing music, watching and playing most sports, and relaxing on the weekends at his rustic cabin on a lake in Chelsea. He splits and plays soccer for Huron, plays trumpet and french horn, and has a passion for eating crustaceans and bi-valves. Leo’s most excited about the design aspect of journalism and wants to get to work with all the great people at the Communicator.
    Lily McCready,
    Photo of Nadia Tuzinsky
    Nadia Tuzinsky, Journalist

Nadia is a sophomore and completing her first year on Communicator staff. She enjoys playing hockey and sewing in her free time. She believes mac and cheese should be eaten with spoons. Her favorite movie is Top Gun. She loves listening to Billie Eilish and eating raw cookie dough.

    Photo of Sophie Fetter
    Sophie Fetter, Journalist
Sophie Fetter is a senior at Community High School. This is her second year on The Communicator. She thinks writing is both very challenging and very rewarding. Sophie enjoys drawing, animation, interesting conversations, listening to music, and reading. She hates greed, ungratefulness and unwaxed dental floss. Sophie spends a lot of time watching her pet betta fish, Mareanie. She also runs the Community High Philosophy Club.
