“I love piano, and I have been playing since I was in third grade. I just really like being able to do something independently and have control over that. It’s also just fun to learn new music. I learn a lot of Chopin pieces, but mostly classical. I like that in a recital I’m able to share the work that I’ve done over the amount of time and listen to other people’s work too. I probably practice every single day for at least 30 minutes, practicing every day just makes you better. When you’re learning something and you want to learn more and you have put a lot of time into practicing. A bunch of people in my family have done music as some of my great grandparents have done it, my grandparents and it’s just at least some person in every generation has done music. Every time my grandparents would come over I’d usually perform a piece for them. My great-grandfather on my mom’s side performed a lot, and my dad in high school was the DJ and worked at a music store. We all love having music as a hobby.”
