“I see playing the violin as a way to grow as a person. It gives me a way to connect with people, whether that’s the people I play with or for. I play with Huron and the orchestra is a really tight community. We do bonding events like skating in the winter. Last year, we all went to Toronto to perform and this year we’re going to Spain, which is crazy and incredible. So it’s a fun opportunity to experience and a great group to be part of.”

Janaki is a senior at Community High School, and it’s her third year on staff, second as a Magazine Editor-in-Chief. In school, she loves science and writing, and outside, she splits her time between baking, reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her family. This year, she makes up one-fifth of the print team, and she’s super excited for another year with The Communicator!
