Penny Seats is in Cahoots!

The Penny Seats Theatre Company is a professional nonprofit theatre in Ann Arbor. Having recently reached their 13th year, they have made the pivotal decision to move their productions back to downtown Ann Arbor, taking residency at the Cahoots coworking space.

“It’s been a struggle over the last several years to find spaces in Ann Arbor that are affordable for small nonprofit companies of any variety,” said Lauren London, executive director and co-founder of the Penny Seats.

This year, their performances will look slightly different, as their summer shows will not be staged outdoors.

“We’re gonna miss performing in the parks because it’s been part of our identity,” London said. “But we’ve been hearing from patrons that they’re ready to increase their comfort level and experience some air conditioning in the summer.”
