“I was playing softball one time with my friends. It was our last game and I remember it was weirdly damp. It was kind of soggy outside, so I felt really sticky and it made me kind of upset. It was our last game so everybody was trying their best and I played first base. Our whole team was really scared of the pitcher who was pitching because she was really good. She made this noise like a grunt, but she just made a noise and it was really scary because she pitched real fast and she hit three of our teammates, really hard, and they had to go home. She was pitching and she struck a lot of people out, but after she hit three people they wouldn’t let her back in to pitch. They let her play other positions, but not pitcher. It was this team who always beat us and I remember we were kind of fed up with it. I remember feeling really happy with my teammates and really excited to be there which is hard to find. I tried soccer, I’ve tried swimming, I’ve tried something else, and I just didn’t really feel like I was having fun, but in softball I have fun.”
