At one point or another, every student has found themselves drowning in an endless list of assignments, or remembering they have a test five minutes before they’re supposed to take it. CHS sophomore Ella Weinberger knows this feeling all too well, which is why she encourages all students to find an effective organizational system.
“You really should be as proactive as you can and stay organized, or it’s gonna burn you,” Weinberger said. “This year, I’ve been using a notebook that I got in forum to make a list of all my assignments that are coming up, and then I just put a little check mark next to it.”
While Weinberger acknowledges the difficulty of discipline, she strongly believes that focus and productivity pay off every time. She further admits that when using a reliable system of organization, she experiences less stress and is more secure in her academic standings.
“My advice would be to get a planner or a notebook, whichever works for you, and to really make sure that directly after school you’re getting all your homework done before you turn on the TV show you’re binging or anything like that,” Weinberger said. “Just really make sure that your work gets done, gets completed, and gets turned in, so you don’t have to stress about it.”
Staying on top of work is a difficult task for students and staff alike, but the stress of these never-ending workloads can be relieved by planning ahead and staying organized. Dedicating time to creating your own system can be extremely beneficial, and Weinberger believes that keeping track of assignments in something as simple as a notebook can help get the job done.
