A crowd of observers mark the war in Ukraine’s third anniversary by attending a vigil for Ukraine on the Diag. The vigil was directed by Eugene Bondarenko, a Ukrainian native with deep personal ties to the war. “Three years into a war, there’s fatigue,” Bondarenko said. “Russia’s ultimate goals hinge on the fact that people will simply get tired of fighting. Events like this kind of serve as a demonstration that, nope, they’re wrong. I don’t know how many years they’re going to have to wait, but, you know, Putin biologically doesn’t have that many left.”
