The produce of J and T Todosciuk Farms speaks for itself. The stall takes up double the space of some vendors and is lined from end to end with colorful vegetables, fruits and flowers.
This no-nonsense marketing strategy has clearly been a hit with customers. J and T Todosciuk Farms has been selling their wares at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market for 18 years. Jim Todosciuk explains the Ann Arbor Market is unique and has its perks.
“There are a lot of people to meet. The season is longer too. It goes all year round. It goes from May all the way to Christmas,” Todosciuk said.
The eight-month season allows for J and T Todosciuk Farms to present a variety of different merchandise.
“This time of year we’re getting into the fall products: the pumpkins, squash, Indian corn but you still have tomatoes and stuff. All through the spring and summer and fall we sell produce and then starting the first week in November we have Christmas Greens—wreaths and stuff. It is seasonal,” Todosciuk said.
J and T Todosciuk Farms grows and sells only produce that is in season. Although the long markets season means more business it also means they must adapt to changing weather conditions.
J and T Todosciuk Farms grow their produce naturally without pesticides.
Although fall themed produce may be popular right now Todosciuk recommends fruits not normally associated with fall.
“Right now the tomatoes are really good. The watermelon is good. They are really sweet now,” he said.
Whether in early May or late December it is sure that J and T Todosciuck Farms offers a beautiful variety of seasonal goods.
