Predictions for the CHS 3v3 Basketball Tournament

With preliminary pool play complete, the annual Community High School 3v3 tournament playoff bracket is complete.
The new sixteen team bracket, made up from the top two finishers from each pool and two wild cards has been set and is ready for play to begin.

The tournament is now a single-elimination tournament, so if you lose you go home (actually to fifth or sixth block). If you win you also go to fifth or sixth block, but you live to play another day, until you play Jesse’s team.

During pool play there were clear powerhouses in each group, but now it is anyone tournament. This is where the upsets begin, where Cinderella stories are made and history written in front of our very eyes. This is the 3v3 tournament.

Each game is now played to eleven points and the “win-by-two” rule is now in effect.
Predictions:
East:
The East division of the bracket is made up of 4 teams: The Diversifiers, Me and Ryan, The Administration, Team Wilburforce. After two easy wins by The Diversifyers and Team Wilburforce, The Diversifyers will come out champs of the east. It will be a tough game but they should pull away late using great ball movement and their behemoth center Jesse Buchsbaum.

Diversifyers come out of the east hungry for a win that will get them to their fourth straight finals appearance.
South:
Considered the most competitive division in the tournament. Any team could make it out of this division. The first upset of the bracket, The Wet Bandits (Tod, Dave, Marshall, and Mo) beat the Ann Arbor Coconuts and moved on to play the MonStars. The Wet Bandits will keep their Cinderella story alive for one more game, as they will be victorious in the South Region, riding their horse Tod Tharp into the Final Four.

West:
The Pioneer Rejects are clearly the class of the west with all former Pioneer basketball players on their team. They will face off against the Kevin Flanagan Rejects in their first game. Aaron Noffke will likely be doing the majority of the rejecting in this game as the Pioneer Rejects cruise into the elite eight. The other game in the west has DJ Alex facing off against Grofman and Girlfriend. The all freshman team in DJ Alex will use their speed and youth and run into the elite eight. DJ Alex will meet their maker when they are dismantled by the Pioneer Rejects in the region final. The Pioneer Rejects will cruise their way into the Final Four.

North:
The North Region consists of four teams that should give each other tough games to win. The Whelped Sukiyaki takes on Team Sexy in what could be the most entertaining game in first round play. The high shorts and socks of Team Sexy will rattle the W.S. as Rob Aldrich will have an off-day because he does not want to scuff his Sperry Topsiders. Team Sexy will pull of the upset and take their 1970 ABA reminiscent outfits to the Elite Eight.
In the last game of the first round Suga Suga Leif Leif will dominate Booty Meat to set up a game with Team Sexy in the Elite Eight. S.S.L.L. will use their size down low to win their region and make their way to the Final Four.

Final Four:
The first Final Four games will be a quick one with The Diversifyers quickly demolishing The Wet Bandits. A defibrillator may be needed towards the end of this game for players on the Wet Bandits, because of the fifteen point games in the Final Four. The Diversifyers head back to the Finals for the fourth straight year.
The Pioneer Rejects and Suga Suga Leif Leif face-off in the other Final Four game. After a hard fought game by both teams, the game will come down to which team had more time to practice. With Junior Aaron Noffke and three seniors on the rejects they will have more time to practice together because they will likely be out of school. Noffke will be able to practice with his team as well because even though he is a junior, he rarely attends Community classes anyway. Suga Suga Leif Leif will miss the much needed practice time from Sophomore Cal Kirchen that will hurt them in the game. The Rejects move on to the finals to take on The Diversifyers for bragging rights of CHS 3v3 Champion.

Championship:
A hard fought game to twenty-one between these two teams while majority of the school is watching will be a great last game for the tournament. This championship should be full of highlighting dunks from both big men from each team, great shots and tough defense. This game will be a toss up as both teams match up great against each other.
Champion:
The Diversifyers will come out as the 3v3 champs winning their second title in four years. Jesse Buchsbaum, Spencer MacDonald and Gil Eisbruch will end their 3v3 careers with most fans calling the Diversifyers a dynasty.
