On Dec 9, the U of M women’s gymnastics team held an intrasquad meet to practice for the 2012 season. They were split up into two teams: the maize team against the blue team. On each event, an athlete from each team would go head to head, and a panel of celebrity judges would decide which routine was better. In the end, the blue team won, although it was very close throughout the meet.
The hosts of the “Michigan Insider” Sam Webb and Ira Weintraub were joined by Michigan football players Mike Martin, and Ryan Van Bergen, and Denard Robinson to be the judges for the night. The intrasquad was emceed by former wolverine and 2011 NCAA national all-around champion Kylee Botterman.
The blue team consisted of juniors Natalie Beilstein, and Brittnee Martinez, and sophomores Kristen Nagle, Reema Zakharia, Joanna Sampson, and Teresa Arthur. The maize team was comprised of freshmen Annette Miele and Sachi Sugiyama, sophomores Shelby Gies and Stephanie Colbert, and junior Katie Zurales.
