Sports: Pioneer’s Week 4 Update

Sports: Pioneers Week 4 Update
Football: Pioneer played Temperance Bedford last Friday. The game was down to the wire but Pioneer was able to win, 14-13, making Pioneer 4-2 on the season.
Field Hockey: Pioneer tied Huron on the 24th, in a 0-0 stalemate. the girls also played Ladywood on the 28th, winning 5-0 with Shelby Supica and Clare Brush scoring 2, and Mackenzie Sapp scoring 1.
Soccer: Pioneer played Bedford, Chelsea and Adams last week. They got through it without a loss, beating Bedford 5-2, beating Chelsea 1-0 and tieing Adams 2-2. Pioneer plays Huron on friday october, 5th.
Tennis: Pioneer played Huron in Tennis on Thursday, September 27. They lost every single game, and couldn’t keep up with Huron on the court.
Cross Country: The Pioneer Women’s Adi Tzalel came 1st for Pioneer with a time of 20:50, Mira Lupu crossed the finish line just 8 seconds after Adi. Elena Boudreau came in at 21:37 to finish off Pioneers top three finishers. The mens team was lead by Costa Willets who finished in 15:57. Community’s own Galen Burell finished in 15:58 and nick aukerman finished in 16:47.

Crew: On Saturday, September 22, Pioneer went to race at the annual Frogtown races in Toledo, Ohio. Pioneer was able to place 2nd in the Men’s 2nd Varsity 8 and the Men’s 2nd Varsity 4. The Pioneer women did not have as good of a day as the men as their highest finish was 4th.

Volleyball: Pioneer volleyball was swept by Skyline last week during their “Volley For a Cure” match Thursday the 27. Pioneer was defeated in three games. They lost  12-25, 16-25, and 17-25. Pioneer plays Bedford on October 2nd.

Women’s Golf: Pioneer Women’s Golf took 1st place with a 172 at Tecumseh Country Club, beating Saline (177) and Tecumseh themselves (180)
