The Hobbit movie review

Imagine a vast world full of mountains, lush evergreen forests, spanning plains, and castles and dungeons scattered across it.  A world holding many unique species of beings, Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, Trolls, and Hobbits.  Though such a world may not be real in this universe, it seems very realistic in the “Lord of The Rings” world.

With such an engaging universe to delve into, just three movies were not enough for director Peter Jackson and all the fans that follow.   Thus came the most current installment to the famous series, “The Hobbit”, which shows much potential.

With much controversy on the new movie being geared towards being part of another trilogy, fans question whether a story based off a single book can be stretched and still end up as good as the last three.

I took it upon myself to go to the midnight showing of the film.  Surrounded by fans showing their love and dedication to the series by dressing in cosplay, I grew anxious to see it on the big screen. 169 minutes and I found myself thoroughly engaged throughout the whole film.

Like every movie based off a book, there are going to be some things that do not match up.  However, I thought the movie was very close to how the book presented the story.  The acting, camera angles, and CGI effects were engaging and realistic. It also accomplished giving me the same feeling of being in the fictional world as the previous films had done.

There are few movies that have ever gotten my full attention throughout the course  of them, but “The Hobbit” did. Though there is still question on how the one book can be three movies and the lack and addition of details to the story, I felt this film was very well done and I highly recommend seeing it for yourself.
