High School Thespians Brave Rain and Cold to Paint The Rock

The Rock proudly displays the message “SUPPORT AAPS THEATER”

The weather on Sunday, April 14 was overcast and gloomy, but even a light sprinkling of snow didn’t keep a crowd of determined thespians from Ann Arbor Public Schools from their mission. Armed with paint cans, brushes, rollers and latex gloves, 20 members of high school theater groups across the district showed up at the intersection of Hill Street And Washtenaw Avenue to paint their own distinctive message on the Ann Arbor landmark as part of a campaign to defend  theater programs against the coming rounds of Ann Arbor Public Schools budget cuts.
