Love Trumps Hate, and Hate Loves Trump

At the third Presidential Debate of 2016, Donald Trump did not shake the hand of his opponent Hillary Clinton, neither at the beginning nor the end. The October air in Las Vegas buzzed with excitement and annoyance simultaneously. As the night progressed, Clinton and Trump became less friendly, hurling insults and rude comments. The night went from bad to worse, as the debate served only as a platform to showcase how incompetent both candidates are. The 2016 election in its entirety has been about making the other candidate seem as horrid as humanly possible. Donald Trump catches the attention of the media no matter the situation, positive or negative, though the headlines containing the word Trump usually involve words like “nasty, racist and Twitter.” And although no one is perfect, especially Clinton, there is a lot that America can learn from her and her running mate Tim Kaine. On the other hand, Donald Trump, a former reality show host and “businessman,” seems to be taking the honest approach, by not holding back on any opinion matter. From countless racist remarks and sexual assault lawsuits, Donald Trump seems like the worst of the worst. Not only should he be under investigation for his alleged sexual assault of 9 separate women so far, but he should be not running for president. Now there are many Trump supporters, within and outside of the United States, and they all have their different reasons, yet none of these reasons seem valid.

Donald Trump is a good businessman:  An argument that is consistently seen for Trump is that he is a great businessman and this will make him a great president. Donald Trump is regarded as one of the best businessmen in the world. His trademarked towers can be seen in many cities around the United States, Trump University was opened in 2005, Trump has a collection of ties, suits and shoes, Trump owned many Atlantic City casinos and created jobs for hard-working Americans. Except these are, generally speaking, false statements, in the sense that none of them are true. Trump towers were built with major opposition, taking up vast majorities of space and housing frauds, criminals and penny-stock schemers. The tower in New York, though a great investment on Trump’s behalf, is home to the highest amount of unregistered brokerages in the United States that investors complain about, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s current public alert list. Trump University is currently closed and under investigation, due to the fact that one of the salesmen for Trump University, Ronald Schnakenberg, admitted that “while Trump University claimed it wanted to help consumers make money in real estate, in fact, Trump University was only interested in selling every person the most expensive seminars they possibly could.” Trump is well known for his popular phrase “Make America Great Again.” This slogan can be found on many Trump artifacts like hats, sweatshirts and t-shirts, that are sold to benefit Trump’s presidential campaign. This was temporarily put on hold as Trump was fined $10,000 for selling his merchandise, after failing to meet requirements for a kiosk in his Trump Tower lobby. Also, the products are not made in the United States and do not always meet safety requirements alongside having savage reviews.

Donald Trump is honest, trustworthy and respectful:  Most people that support Trump make claims that he is upfront and honest about his opinions. People typically see Trump as a simple, single-minded being who has a strong set of beliefs. It is easy to root for someone who is confident and powerful because these traits are similar to those we see in people who are leaders. The strength to say how you feel is difficult for some, but not for Trump. Although in Trump’s case, it appears as though the thing that makes him so headstrong is his ignorance. Trump, although unafraid of sharing his views, is remarkably unknowledgeable about the topics he speaks so strongly about. In the third Presidential Debate, Donald Trump described abortion as ripping the baby out of the womb of the mother, which is not how abortion works whatsoever. Most third-trimester abortions are caused by health problems and are the hardest choices one may face in their lifetime. Trump is also known for his dramatization of current and past events. A fact check of his previous three presidential debates showed that while Clinton was incorrect or made false statements 13 percent of the time, while Trump had a staggering 53 percent.

Hillary Clinton deleted more than 33,000 classified email:  Hillary’s deleted emails have been recounted and rehashed many times, but a topic that seems to evade the public eye is the good that Hillary Clinton does. Hillary Clinton deleted upwards of 33,000 classified emails when she was a United States Secretary of State. People now view her as untrustworthy. It was revealed that after extensive FBI investigation, the emails she sent, while not necessarily following the guidelines of her administration, never sent any classified information through her private email servers. Yes, Hillary should have used her mandated email address, but no harm no foul. As long as no classified emails were sent or received, Clinton is resolved of guilt and trouble. And even though these emails have been investigated and proven not harmful, Trump still loosely throws this around, attempting to slander the name of Clinton, like a child tossing around the same unwarranted argument over and over again.

Donald Trump respects women more than anyone else:  Those who support Trump believe that he is a strong and powerful man, with extreme confidence and the ability to never waiver in his ideals and beliefs. In both the second and third Presidential Debate, Donald claimed that no one respects women more than he does. Donald Trump has called women pigs, slobs, disgusting animals, beautiful pieces of [profanity] and dogs, said he would date his daughter, called breastfeeding disgusting, blamed sexual assault in the military on cohabitation, abortion should be punishable, called a 12-year-old Paris Hilton attractive, bragged about his unwanted sexual advances on multiple women, talked about non-consensually grabbing women by their genitals and is generally rude to women. This is not how a future president should behave, and with luck, Trump will fade into the background of the political world, until he is no longer recognizable by future generations.

Donald Trump is a better option than Hillary:  There are those who think we should not have a woman president due to the fact that the president’s job is a job for men, and men exclusively. As this is biologically and logically untrue, those who believe this, can be classified as idiotic, and those who are voting, would be voting for Trump. Trump likes to judge Clinton based on her husband’s actions, which is demoralizing and offensive. He treats her as though her worth is made up of her husband’s actions.

In summation, Donald Trump is a national embarrassment and a travesty to those who treasure the American way. Freedom, the Pursuit of Happiness, and general respect should be upheld to those running for office, maybe even to a higher degree. Trump fails all categories of kindness, basic intelligence, and respect. America deserves a president who will stand and deliver, not one who will write nasty tweets at 3 a.m. in the morning. Trump should not and will not be the next president.
