Meringue Drops
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 5 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla
- 3 colors of food coloring
Steps
- Separate egg whites. Whisk in a stand mixer. Start at a low speed, and raise until a high speed. Continue to mix until stiff peaks, do not over mix!
- Preheat oven to 375º. Spread out 1 1/2 cups of sugar on some type of baking paper. And heat for 5-7 minutes. Be sure not to burn!
- Take out the sugar from the oven, and decrease oven to 200º. Add warmed sugar and vanilla to the whisked egg whites.
- Add food coloring to inside of piping bag. Should look like raindrops on the inside of bag. Add meringue mixture to back, avoiding air bubbles.
- On a baking sheet with baking paper, squeeze meringue into spiral drop with about 2 inches of space between cookies.
- Bake for 2 hours, let cool, and serve!
