“Alchemical” Review

Alchemical+Review

Dove Cameron is set to release her debut album on Dec. 1. The Disney star has released multiple singles in the past few years but “Alchemical Vol. 1” will be her first full album.

Cameron teased the release by putting out “Lethal Woman” on Oct. 20. Cameron’s music often reflects her main role in the Disney Descendants movies and “Lethal Woman” is no exception. The song is creative and perfect for the spooky season.

Three of the eight tracks on “Alchemical Vol. 1” have been released. “Boyfriend” was Cameron’s first single. She put it out in 2022 at it became a big hit on the radio. “Breakfast” and “Lethal Woman” have been released since then.

Cameron’s discography explores gender roles and power dynamics uniquely. Her work often has dark undertones, representative of her grief for her Disney co-star, Cameron Boyce, who passed away in 2019, at 20 years old.

With more movies on the way, we don’t know what Cameron’s career will look like after the release of “Alchemical Vol. 1” but we do know she is a talented young artist to look out for.
