Physics Pumpkin Drop 2021
On Wednesday, Oct. 5, CHS Physics gathered to participate in its annual “Pumpkin Drop.” Students dropped a giant pumpkin from the roof as other students on the ground watched and studied its fall.
Physics at Community is unlike any other class at other high schools. Students learn some lessons at home and then enter the classroom with questions. For senior Madison Bell, the class structure has allowed her to work at her own pace and made physics easier. Although it was an adjustment, she enjoys physics with teacher Jonathan Thomas-Palmer.

Sebastian Oliva, Web Editor-in-Chief
Sebastian Oliva is currently a senior at Community High School. This is his second year on staff. He is one of four editors-in-chief and is super excited to be back in person! When he’s not listening to music, running at the track, or driving his moped, you can find him at Sweetwaters re-fueling himself with a cold, freshly brewed, “Dreamy” cold brew.
Mia Goldstein, Print Editor-in-Chief
Mia is a senior at Community High and this will be her second year as a Print EIC. Most of her time is spent on InDesign, fooling around with page design or making funky vector art on Illustrator. When she's not in the journalism room, you will either find her on the tennis court 80% of the time or with her black lab, Abby, the other 20% of the time. She's always up for a challenge. Bring it on senior year :)
Oliver Lete-Straka, Journalist
Oliver Lete-Straka is in his second semester in journalism. He loves to talk to new people and try new things. Recently he has joined Pioneer's ultimate frisbee team and is excited to start new things in his senior year. He also rock climbs at Planet Rock with friends. He loves training in a fun way and getting together with his friends who are newly in college.
Lucy Tobier, Web Editor-in-Chief
Lucy Tobier is a senior at Community High School and a Web Editor-in-Chief for The Communicator. This is her third year on staff. When she's not transcribing interviews or messing around with website layouts, you can find her walking through the woods and browsing the stacks at the public library. She loves to bake cookies for her friends, rewatch Gilmore Girls and cut apart seed catalogs.
