“This will be such a sweet moment for you girls to look back on when you’re at each other’s graduations or weddings one day.”
We laugh and nod, smiling along with the woman taking our photo. I think, sadly, that we won’t know each other by then. I fight my way free of the thought—this moment is enough. I don’t have to worry about graduations or weddings or the rest of my life. I don’t have to let the fear of growing up—growing apart—tarnish a beautiful day under a beautiful sun that we’ll always share. So I don’t.

Serena O'Brien
Serena O'Brien, Print Editor-in-Chief
This is Serena's third year of journalism, and her second year as a Print Editor-in-Chief. She loves to be outside, whether that's running, hiking, biking, swimming, or just lazing around in the sun. Work takes precedent though, so you're more likely to find her writing, editing, doing copious amounts of math homework, or taking a break to play her mobile game of the week. She is beyond excited for another year in Room 300!
