If the public wants good idea of what really goes on at Community High, they should come to the Annual Arts, Letters, and Sciences Night, a night that celebrates all the hard work that goes on at Community. Arts, Letters and Sciences Night gets its name from students’ work that is showcased: Art projects, science projects, and Free Verse, Community High’s literary magazine.
It is a proud night for lots of CHS students. With glacier and topography projects by FOS 1, ‘You Are What You Eat’ projects by FOS 2, and soap projects by FOS 3, the science department was certainly not lacking a place in the celebration.
Not to be outdone, the art department showcased a wide variety of their finest art projects, ranging from objects like ‘junk and trash’ sculptures to quick sketches. Most things were for sale at a reasonable price, but the main idea behind this was to show off all of the wonderful art work that goes on in the Community High art Department.
The CHS Jazz Band played throughout the evening, bringing a touch of music to the already jam-packed night.
So for those out there who think that Community is just a school filled with slackers and drug dealers, come to Arts, Letters and Science Night. You might just be forced to re-work your opinion of us.
