Forum Council (FoCo) is CHS’s student body government consisting of students from all grades. Throughout the year, FoCo plans and organizes school events like prom, spirit week and the Halloween dance. Each year, new students run for FoCo president and campaign for the votes of their peers. During their campaigns, candidates highlight the policies they want to implement and what their goals are for the student body.
Piper Cooke, CHS senior and Forum Council co-president, believes being a leader in FoCo means having the responsibility of making final executive decisions, ample planning and listening to student feedback.
“I feel like we’ve run into obstacles this year and we spent a lot of our time navigating that,” Cooke said. “We’re here to listen to what the students are saying and make sure that they can have the best year possible.”
Town Hall will be held on Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11 where students will be able to learn about each candidate’s platforms. On March 12, elections will be held and students will cast their votes through ranked choice voting on who they want to be the next Forum Council presidents.
