W Leaves Fairchild for Condé Nast, New Editor to be Lined Up.

On Wednesday, it was announced that W magazine, formerly the sister magazine to WWD, would be leaving the Fairchild Fashion Group and moving entirely under Condé Nast.

Condé Nast CEO Chuck Townsend was quoted in WWD:
“This formally establishes a structure for W consistent with our other consumer magazine titles, and allows FFG the autonomy to focus on their core business-to-business publications and related businesses.”

The subsequent news following this announcement is the replacement of senior staff, who will stay at WWD exclusively.

Today in WWD, five names of potential editor-in-chiefs were published. Carine Roitfeld of Vogue Paris, Stefano Tonchi of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Katie Grand of LOVE, Adam Moss of New York Magazine, and Men’s Vogue’s former editor Jay Felden were listed.
