Harry Potter Soundtrack Review 2

A review of the soundtrack from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. Composed by Alexander Desplat, the soundtrack has been well-received by Desplat and Potter fans alike.

Highlights from the Soundtrack

Obliviate: This sets the tone for the whole movie. It’s dark, and a more matured opening to the Harry Potter series.

Snape to the Malfoy Manner: My personal favorite, this driving track captures Snape’s seriousness and is a dark, epic addition to the scene.

Ministry of Magic: It could also be called “Umbridge’s Theme,” and isn’t as dark as I would’ve expected. That’s not necessarily a bad thing–it was a nice change, and made the Ministry scene sort of comical.

Lovegood: Desplat does a great job of capturing the sheer quirkiness of Xenophelius Lovegood, in a mysterious, ominous way.
