Community Ensemble Theater (CET) is a huge part of many Community students’ lives. Last year, CET put on three amazing performances of Romeo and Juliet, Rhinoceros, and Little Shop of Horrors. Many shows sold out, and the audiences gave the show standing ovations. This fall, CET prepares for their next endeavor, a play by Shakespeare called As You like It.
According to Director Quinn Strassel,“As You like It is Shakespeare’s most comprehensive view of love.” Strassel elaborated, “The play shows so many different approaches to viewing love. There is unrequited love, love at first site, and lust.”
Strassel is looking to get people involved who don’t consider themselves “theater kids.” He needs techies, musicians, actors, singers and non-singers. Of the three performances this year, As You Like It will have the most wide-ranging opportunity. The show calls for a very diverse cast.
If you are considering being a part of the production, there is a mass meeting Thursday, September 8th from 3:30 to 4:30, concerning the show. Auditions will be held next Monday, September 12th and Tuesday, September 13th from 3:30 to 6:00 pm.
