Recently, CHS was visited by one of our most well-known graduates. Neda Ulaby graduated in 1989 and is now an arts reporter for National Public Radio.
She spoke about her career in the Craft Theater, including her attendance at CHS, her later work in Chicago as editor of the Windy City Times, and her struggle to get a job at NPR.
She also answered many student questions: Her experience applying to college, her appreciation for our CR program, and what happened when she was the only person in NPR’s office when Tiger Woods had supposedly been severely injured.
She also talked about several of her most interesting pieces she worked on for NPR, including her Elliott Smith obituary, which set a record for downloads from NPR’s website, and her piece on plastinated body exhibitions.
