Ed Sheeran “+” Album Review

Ed Sheeran + Album Review

Watch out America, there’s a new Brit on the scene! The British singer Ed Sheeran debuted his first album here in the United States this summer! Ed Sheeran is a 21 year old born in Halifax, England. He started recording in 2005 and started playing gigs in 2009. Ed released his first single in the U.S. in June, 2011, and released his album “+” in June 2012, and it was number 1 on the iTunes chart at 12:01 AM the first night it was out. His album genre is considered “Singer/Songwriter,” which means that he writes, composes, and sings his own music.

This album is one of my favorite albums of all time. His music is very calming and unlike most of the meaningless music nowadays, it actually has value and significant lyrics. My favorite song off the album is “Wake Me Up”. This song is especially good because it’s calm, yet the lyrics are so riveting that it doesn’t make you bored while listening to it. Ed is known for being a super fast singer/talker, and yet he can do it without sounding stupid. He keeps the songs interesting. His album is so versatile, going from fast upbeat music that makes you want to dance, to music that can put you to sleep and make you cry. There is a song for every mood! I would give this album a 5 out of 5 stars. It’s pure genius, and it is the most listened to album on my phone.
